The risk of invasive infections from fungus is growing as a result of antibiotic resistance. Fungal infections could be the new Disease X, the World Health Organization warns as it publishes its first-ever list of ‘killer fungi’. It says the risk of humans dying after becoming infected is skyrocketing.
